Traveling Solo in Morocco Without Feeling Alone: Why I Created Beyond Atlas
Updated: Sep 13
There is a difference between traveling alone and feeling alone.
Why Traveling Solo in Morocco Doesn’t Mean Being Alone
Many women want to explore the world, but they keep waiting for someone to join them. A friend may not be available. A sister may have other responsibilities. A spouse may not share the same desire to travel.
So the dream gets postponed.

I hear it often:
“I’ve always wanted to visit Morocco, but I don’t have anyone to travel with.”
I understand that hesitation. Arriving in another country on your own can feel intimidating. But not having a travel companion shouldn’t mean giving up on a place that has been calling your heart.
Why I Created Beyond Atlas
I was born and raised in Morocco, and although I have lived in the United States for many years, Morocco will always be home.
I wanted to create a way for women to experience my country with someone who understands it from the inside—not only its beautiful places, but also its traditions, hospitality, food, history, and everyday life.
Beyond Atlas was created for women who want to see Morocco more deeply, without having to plan and manage every detail themselves.
It was also created for the woman who is ready to travel, even when no one she knows is able to come with her.
You May Arrive Alone, But You Are Welcomed Into a Group
Traveling solo with Beyond Atlas doesn’t mean spending the journey alone.
From the moment you arrive, you become part of a small group of women sharing the same experience. We travel together, gather around the table, discover new places, reflect, laugh, and create genuine connections along the way.
During our first retreat in April, I watched women arrive from different places and backgrounds—some knowing no one else in the group. As the days passed, conversations became easier, friendships began to form, and the group developed its own sense of community.
That connection is not something I leave to chance. It is part of how every Beyond Atlas journey is designed.
The small group size, shared meals, cultural experiences, and moments of reflection all create space for women to connect naturally—without pressure or expectation.
There is room to be part of the group, and there is also room to step away, rest, and enjoy time for yourself.
Travel Can Be Something You Choose for Yourself
Women spend so much of their lives caring for others, meeting responsibilities, and putting their own desires aside.
Choosing to travel can be a way of making space for yourself again.
It can remind you that you are still curious. Still capable. Still open to discovering something new.
You don’t need to wait for the perfect time or for someone else to say yes. You can arrive on your own and still feel supported, included, and cared for throughout the journey.
That is what I want every woman traveling with Beyond Atlas to experience: the freedom of coming independently, without ever feeling alone.
If Morocco has been on your heart, I would be honored to welcome you on one of our small-group journeys.
Come on your own. Leave with memories, meaningful connections, and a piece of Morocco in your heart.
